Le rat mort

EN – A stylised figure, inspired by Native American representations, stands frontally within a space structured by red and blue colour fields. In the character’s hand, a blue bird is marked by a suction‑cup arrow — a childlike gesture framed as an act of bravery: he aims, he shoots, he hits the target. Another suction‑cup arrow is lodged in the totem, while three more protrude from his pocket, one of them broken. This broken arrow marks the limit of the game — the moment when innocence fractures and play no longer protects from reality. The shift becomes explicit as a real arrow pierces a rat on the ground, showing how childhood mimicry can evolve into actual violence.
The work reflects on the cultural construction of violent gestures and the fragile boundary between play, imitation and cruelty. It resonates with Neo‑Primitivism, modern Symbolism and Synthetic Cubism.
LU – Eng stiliséiert Figur, inspiréiert vun indianesche Representatiounen, steet frontal an engem Raum mat rouden a bloe Faarffläschen. An der Hand hält si en bloe Vull, deen duerch eng Ventous‑Päil getraff ass — e kandesch Spill, dat als Beweis vu Courage duergestallt gëtt: hie weist, hie schéisst, hie trëfft. Eng aner Ventous‑Päil stécht am Totem, an dräi weider kucken aus senger Täsch eraus, dovun eng gebrach. Dës gebrach Päil markéiert d’Limit vum Spill — de Moment, wou d’Onschold ufänkt ze briechen an d’Spill net méi géint d’Realitéit schützt. Dëse Wiessel gëtt evident, wann eng richteg Päil eng Ratt um Buedem duerchdréngt, a weist, wéi kandesch Imitatioun an tatsächlech Gewalt iwwergeet.
D’Wierk reflektéiert d’kulturell Konstruktioun vu Gewaltgesten an déi fragil Grenz tëscht Spill, Imitatioun a Grausamkeet. Et resonéiert mat Neoprimitivismus, moderne Symbolismus an syntheteschem Kubismus.
