EN – A football player stands upright, frozen in a posture of rigid authority. His foot rests on the ball as if asserting a fragile form of control; his arms are crossed, his mouth open as if to sing, command, or protest. Around him, the field is calm, the sky clear, the geometry immaculate. Yet the game never begins. The work evokes suspended action, the stiffness of imposed roles, the solitude of a body standing tall but powerless.
Behind him, a green frog sits on the bench — the only living witness to the scene. It embodies innocence, patience, or perhaps irony: the absurdity of a world where the one who believes he holds the game under his foot remains motionless, while the smallest creature watches freely.
Between Purism, Metaphysical Painting, and Contemporary Symbolism, the work explores the tension between waiting and movement, discipline and absurdity.
LU – E Foussballspiller steet riicht, onbeweeglech, an enger Haltung vu steifer Autoritéit. Ronderëm hien ass d’Feld roueg, den Himmel kloer, d’Geometrie perfekt. Awer de Spill fänkt net un. D’Aarbecht weist d’Suspensioun vum Gest, d’Steifheet vun enger Roll, d’Einsamkeet vun engem Kierper, deen zwar steet, mee näischt beweegt.
Hannert him sëtzt eng gréng Fräsch op der Bänk — deen eenzege liewege Zeien vun der Zeen. Si symboliséiert Onschold, Gedold oder Ironie: d’Absurditéit vun enger Welt, wou deen, deen de Spill ënner sengem Fouss hält, onbeweeglech bleift, wärend dat klengst Déier fräi nokuckt.
Tëscht Purismus, metaphysescher Molerei an moderne Symbolismus exploréiert d’Aarbecht d’Spannung tëscht Waarden a Beweegung, Disziplin an Absurditéit.
